What Competidores ask most before their first Partida of chess.
Is chess on GamesP2P 100% skill?+
Yes, by definition. Chess is a game of perfect information: there are no hidden cards, no dice, no chance. The only exception is which side you get (white or black), which is assigned randomly at the start, but white only has a statistical advantage (~54% win rate at master level) — it guarantees nothing. Everything else is Mérito.
How is a move validated as legal?+
All moves are validated against the canonical rules of chess (FIDE). The system blocks illegal moves automatically: you cannot expose your King to check, you cannot jump pieces with the Rook, you cannot ignore castling. Pawn promotion, castling (short and long), en passant capture — all supported.
What happens if I run out of time on the clock?+
You lose the Partida on time. The clock is part of Mérito — managing time is a chess skill. If you have insufficient material to deliver checkmate when the rival runs out of time, a draw is declared. If you run out of time but the rival also has no material, also a draw.
Can I offer a draw to the rival?+
Yes. At any moment you can offer a draw. The rival can accept or decline. If they accept, the Partida ends in a draw and the pot is split (minus commission). If they decline, the Partida continues. This option respects classical chess culture.
